Liz Ditz has a recent entry regarding what lucky people have in common and how to improve your luck (not by chance, either). One recommendation is to spend time at the end of each day visualizing things that went well.

Here are the things that went well today:

Resuscitated and treated a lady with an acute upper GI bleed.

Relieved four women of intense migraine pain.

Successfully aspirated an ankle joint and found monosodium urate crystals under the microscope (Gout).

Admitted a patient with pneumonia and septicemia to medicine without complaint.

Enjoyed the company of my two kitties who clearly enjoyed my company as well. (The mandatory 48 hour cold shoulder treatment is over).

That’s pretty good for one day.
