It turns out that the mountain time zone is perfect for watching the Tour on my days off. Live coverage starts at 6:30 AM for me here, and by the time I get out of bed, the race is well underway. I start my day off watching men riding four to five hours at a time, faster than I can even imagine going, day after day after day without a break. It inspires me to get on my bike and ride. So I did my own stage race today. A one day stage, racing only my body’s need for oxygen. I know that there are still leg muscles in there somewhere, but until my heart, lungs and red blood cells catch up to the altitude (come on kidneys…start kicking up that EPO) I’ll just have to have faith that they’re still there.
