Well, I got my telegram sent in time. Last year, while going through some of my grandfathers keepsake albums, I came across a telegram sent to him by my father on the first day of his retirement. So last summer, on the day my father retired, I started my first job as a residency trained physician, and the following day I sent him the same telegram that he sent his father, using the Western Union Service. Now it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting a telegram from anyone on the day that I retire!
